Dental Treatment: Treatment under General Anesthesia

Children with severe anxiety and/or inability to cooperate due to young age or medical conditions are candidates for general anesthesia.  General anesthesia is a management technique that uses medications to cause the child to become unconscious and asleep while receiving dental care.  It is performed in a hospital setting and it is provided by a physician or a dentist who has special training in anesthesia in conjunction with the pediatric dentist who is providing the dental treatment.

We have privileges in the following hospitals where treatment under general anesthesia can be provided:

Public Hospital:

  • Mission Memorial Hospital
  • MSA Hospital
  • BC Children’s Hospital

Private Hospital:
